"As a practicing Catholic and pilgrim Christian, whose daughter-in-law is Jewish, I decided that one way to improve our understanding of each other's faith and spiritual beliefs is to learn more about the Jewish faith. Additionally, I wanted to make connections on both an intellectual and emotional level with Jewish women. I was less interested in the healing part of the retreat but keenly interested in the prayers and underlying beliefs of Jewish faith. Another reason I attended the retreat is because I enjoy exploring and learning from the questions and ideas that women discuss when given the time to actually delve deeper into a topic.

Ina's extensive knowledge and experience of the Jewish faith, of working with groups and of healing held great promise to successfully meet my personal expectations. From the very beginning of the retreat, it was clear to me and the other participants that Ina understood the process to help us grow and learn. Her role as facilitator was crucial to the success but even more than that, Ina cares about the group and the individual and that is also clear from the start. We used group activities that were physical like massage, artistic like singing, and intellectual/emotional like journaling. I enjoyed the variety of activities. I realize that this is a tiny step in a long journey and it was my pleasure to join others, of another faith, in that journey."

"I attended a women's retreat put on by the Bozeman Temple - that in itself is an amazing statement. I usually avoid any women's retreat like the plague! But a small notice in our newspaper intrigued me with the title, "Healing Through Connections", aimed at bringing women of all faiths together. I am a music ministry person, and healing is a big part of my music. Through Ina Albert's leading, we went through meditations, some massage, relaxation therapies, lead-and-follow exercises, thought-expansion readings, and a shared meal in a beautiful setting.  My mental state returning from this event was calm, ready to face real-world hurdles, a huge sense of humor toward myself, and impressed with the new people I met.  Ina did a great job at quelling the chattiness, keeping us on track and focused, and I think all of us were
reluctant to leave. Would I return? Sure!"

Stress Management and Self-Care for Health Care Professionals

· HEALING THE HEALER
: Caregivers derive particular benefit from this program.  Accustomed as they are to putting others' needs ahead of their own, they learn here that they need not make an either/or choice.  They can attend to their own wellness without diminishing their ability to attend to others.  In fact, they generally find that improved self-care makes them better at their duties—less subject to burnout, irritability or distraction.  Most important, feeling better physically and emotionally will result in improved teamwork and patient care.

Structured either in four 3-hour or six 2-hour modules, this course can also be presented consecutively over a two-day period or distributed over several weeks.  Six general topics are discussed:

          •     Breath
          •     Water
          •     Nutrition
          •     Movement
          •     Relaxation
          •     Self-expression

Different aspects of each topic are covered in each module, consistently deepening each participant's understanding of how the basic elements affect the body, mind and spirit in integrated ways that reduce stress and increase wellness.
